Easter Finishings

Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you all are enjoying your Easter holiday.
I am so close to being done with my first set of art pieces.
How exciting!
Yesterday I almost messed one up really bad,
but I think I have fixed it.
Hopefully I didn't over-do-it when I was
trying to fix smears I accidentally made.
I need to correct some edging on the piece I messed up yesterday,
and then I will update again with PHOTOS!!!
Hurray!!!
Stay tuned.

Inspiration

I am finally to the point with my first set of art pieces to add embellishments. I feel that I want the embellishment(s) to be somewhat funny. For example, one of the art pieces is a photo of Avalon yawning. My idea for a funny embellishment for this art piece was to give her a tongue ring.
However, I am having trouble finding ideas and inspiration for my other art pieces. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how find inspiration and ideas to embellish my current and future art pieces?
Honestly, I may change my mind about wanting the embellishments to be funny someday or at some point, so advice on embellishments used to enhance the art piece (with or without any sort of theme) would be very helpful regardless.
I'm sure seeing the art pieces so far would be helpful in coming up with suggestions, but I was wanting to only display my finished pieces on my blog at this point. Although I'd be willing to take and post photos of the art so far if it really would be needed that much.
If anyone has ideas or has time to help me out I would really appreciate it :).
Hope everyone is having a great Good Friday!
Happy Easter!

Logo!

Yesterday I bought a stylus that I can use to sketch on my phone with. I have a Droid X, by the way. I wanted to make a logo that I will be able to print on business cards that I will attach to the back of my art pieces for my customers to have my contact information.
I used the stylus to draw a logo in my phone's sketch app. Here are the best examples:

Which one do you think I should use?

A bow or my initials?

Today I worked on my signature for when I sign my artwork. I was trying to figure out how I could incorporate the shape of a bow into my signature. It was a little frustrating at first because I just couldn't get it right. Lol. But  I think I finally mastered it, so lets see what you all think:

It's "CP" if you look closely. :)

Still Learning...

Good evening again everyone! I am learning more day by day about the dos and don'ts when it comes to selling  one's artwork.

What a big help my mom has been in this process. I lucked out to have a fellow artist, who also sells their art, as a mom :). I realized while having a conversation with my mom today that I need to sign my art, which means I need to practice my signature!

The first tattoo I went to get was that of a purple bow (not the kind of bow that you shoot an arrow with, but the kind you tie up your daughter's hair with). I chose the color purple because it represents the awareness of animal abuse, which, of course, as a cat lover I completely aware of and want to share the awareness as much as I can - that being said, please click here to be directed to The Animal Rescue Site where they provide a button you may click daily, and by participating you will help raise money for food & care for animals with every click made. No sign up necessary; just a click of your mouse, and you will have donated the value of .6 bowls of food for rescued animals - .

That being said, I was thinking I wanted to somehow include a bow in my signature. However, I'm not really sure how I can do that, so if anyone out there has any ideas and would like to, please share them!

Alright! Bedtime! I'm hungry! Go figure! Good night world!

Introducing you to my first post AND first work of art!

Good evening everyone!
My first post, I'm so excited. I am really looking forward to using this blog to not only keep track of my art pieces, but I hope it can be a useful tool in reaching out to so many other talented people out there and getting everyone's ideas and opinions on my artwork as it progresses and how I might be able to improve. I would like to share with everyone out there my first completed piece which, mind you, is a product of trial and error (and salvage) seeing as I am still working on figuring out exactly what I want my art to look like and how to make that happen. Also, I have decided that my guinea pig for my art will be my love, my cat, Avalon.

This piece is a 6x6 gallery wrapped frame where I have glued the picture of Avalon down and then traced with a fine tipped black pen all the different variations of colors in the photo. Then I wrapped the edges with a 2" glitter trim tape and finished it off with edging the photo and the corners with copper tape. How did I do?
